Ronald Koeman has confirmed Everton are yet to receive a formal offer for Ross Barkley as the midfielder continues to be linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer.

Chelsea, along with Arsenal and Tottenham, are monitoring the 23-year-old's contract situation, with his current deal set to expire next year.

Barkley has told Koeman he wants to leave the Toffees after rejecting a new contract at Goodison Park.

But after Everton were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday - which Barkley did not feature in due to injury - Koeman suggested Barkley's future is no nearer to being resolved.

Meanwhile, Koeman was asked about whether he'd be interested in signing Chelsea's wantaway striker Diego Costa.

The Spain international has not played for the champions this season after being told by Blues boss Antonio Conte he will be allowed to leave this summer.

However, with Chelsea yet to receive a suitable offer for the 28-year-old, Costa has refused to return to London to keep up his fitness by training at Cobham.

Diego Costa's Chelsea career in numbers

Koeman confirmed at Stamford Bridge he wants to bring another striker in before the close of the transfer window, but refused to say whether he would be keen on signing Costa.

The Everton boss told reporters: "I don't talk about names.

"Hopefully we will arrange [a transfer for a striker] for next week."
