Harry Winks hopes to be involved on a historic night as Tottenham face Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Spurs have impressed in the competition so far this season and picked up their first home win of the Premier League campaign at Wembley on Saturday.

Winks played 90 minutes for a third successive club game, fresh from being named man of the match for his senior England debut six days earlier.

Pochettino is expected to make changes for the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu, with Danny Rose a surprise inclusion, and Winks is hoping to play a part.

“Yeah, of course [I want to play],” he said. “It’s something that everyone wants to do – everyone wants to play, we’ll see what happens everyone is going to train well, train hard and see what happens.”

Tottenham have dropped just two points in all competitions since August, conceding just three goals in the process.

The 21-year-old has called on a "confident" Spurs side to take that form to Madrid as the team begin a tough run, with Liverpool and Manchester United also on the horizon.

“Yeah I think the more games we win, the more points we collect and the more confidence we have in the team, we’ve got a good run going in the Premier League as well as the Champions League,” Winks told Standard Sport.

“Confidence is high and hopefully we can take that into the game on Tuesday.”
