When it comes to building squad morale, then look no further than Eden Hazard and Hugo Lloris.

The Fifa Best Football Awards were held in London on Monday night, with Cristiano Ronaldo - as expected - defending his Men's Player of the Year crown for 2017 amid competition from Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The selection process to determine the winner is a result of votes from national team coaches, national team captains, journalists and fans, with each section carrying 25 per cent of the voting.

While Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar made up the final three, there was no need to vote for any of them - as Chelsea and Tottenham stars Hazard and Lloris proved.

As the skippers of Belgium and France respectively, Hazard and Lloris both chose Premier League team-mates among their top three selections.

Hazard went for Blues midfielder N'Golo Kante as his first-choice pick ahead of Ronaldo and Luka Modric.

Kante was arguably the star of Chelsea's 2016-17 title-winning season, with Hazard dubbing him "the rat" for his superb work rate in the centre of Antonio Conte's team.

Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris, meanwhile, reserved his third-place pick for Harry Kane - behind Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos - with the Spurs talisman up for the Ballon d'Or award after a stellar year for club and country.
