Harry Kane says the hunt for his first trophy with Tottenham trumps the many individual honours coming his way.

The academy graduate scored his 100th and 101st goals for the club as Spurs brushed aside big-spending Everton on Saturday as he began his bid for a third successive Premier League golden boot.

Spurs are without a major honour since 1991's FA Cup win, winning just two League Cups since, and failed with promising title challenges in the previous two seasons.

"All these individual records are good but the most important thing for me is to try to win club trophies – Premier Leagues, FA Cups," Kane told reporters.

Kane wants Spurs to start proving their trophy credentials with the midweek visit of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Real Madrid and APOEL complete a tough Group H and the striker says while Spurs are not at the level of their German and Spanish counterparts yet, this is the chance for the players to prove how far they have progressed.

"We've got the Champions League in midweek, which we want to have a good campaign in. We're playing some top teams, which will really be a good test for us, and then we'll see what happens come the end of the season.

"We've got to learn from last year's campaign. I think the fact we're playing teams like Madrid and Dortmund will help us because it will be a big motivation to try to beat those teams.

"We've got to test ourselves against the best if we want to be one of the top teams in Europe. You've got to see where you are, and all the lads are looking forward to it.

"Are we at that level now? I think we have to prove it. We're not there yet. We didn't do great in the Champions League last year so if we can get through this group I think it will be a big statement for the club, considering Real Madrid and Dortmund are two of the biggest teams in Europe.

"That's got to be our main aim – just try to get through the group, try to do better then last year and then go from there."
