Improved West Ham can take confidence to woeful Everton: Our reporters preview David Moyes' Goodison Park return

Standard Sport29 November 2017

David Moyes takes his West Ham side to former club Everton tonight, with the Scotsman still in search of his first win since replacing the sacked Slaven Bilic.

The Hammers boss, who can be encouraged by the performance and atmosphere at London Stadium during Friday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester, has cast aside any sentiment as he searches for a vital three points.

While the east Londoners suffered a poor start to the season, the Toffees themselves are at arguably their lowest ebb since Moyes’ departure in 2013.

The Merseysiders, under the temporary charge of David Unsworth since Ronald Koeman’s sacking in October, have won just one of their last 12 in all competitions and are looking to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat at Southampton on Sunday.

Moyes will be hoping the likes of Marko Arnautovic can build on positive performances since his arrival, while Michail Antonio could make a return from injury off the bench.

Standard Sport’s Jack Rosser and Ken Dyer preview the all-important clash, which could see the Hammers overtake Everton and climb out of the relegation zone.
