Arsenal will be without Shkodran Mustafi and Aaron Ramsey for Wednesday's Premier League trip to West Ham.

Mustafi missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Southampton after limping out of the previous weekend’s defeat to Manchester United with a thigh injury.

He had been expected to recover in time to face the Hammers but Wenger said: “[He will be out] a little bit longer. He’s out in training, running. The medical staff have decided that he’s not completely ready. Will he be ready for Saturday against Newcastle? Yes.”

Ramsey sustained a hamstring problem at St Mary’s Stadium and is unlikely to be available for this weekend’s home game against Newcastle.

“It’s normally a short period,” he said. “It’s not a big one.”

Asked if he will rotate his team, Wenger told Standard Sport: “I will have to look first of all at how some players have recovered. We look at how much energy they spend, how they recover and after I make my decisions, adding to that the balance of the team.
