Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Harry Winks have withdrawn from the England squad ahead of friendlies against Germany and Brazil, with West Brom's Jake Livermore called into the squad.

Kane, who captained the Three Lions during the last international break, took a knock during Spurs’ 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday after Winks was forced off at half-time with an ankle injury.

The pair underwent scans on Monday and have decided against linking up with their international team-mates to concentrate on rehabilitation.

Kane, whose goal against Slovenia confirmed England's qualification for the World Cup in Russia next summer, missed Spurs' recent loss to Manchester United with a hamstring injury but will now be able to look ahead to a return to domestic action in 12 days' time.

Spurs travel to north London rivals Arsenal on November 18 with doubts over both Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld and Dele Alli's fitness, while Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela has not expected to return to face the Gunners.

Alli has already withdrawn with the squad with a hamstring problem, with Michael Keane drafted in, while Chelsea’s Gary Cahill is being assessed and Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson will join the squad later in the week.
