Jan Vertonghen says he wouldn’t swap Harry Kane for any player in world football at the moment as Tottenham prepare to take on Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium.

Kane has once again taken his game to another level for Spurs this season, having scored 13 goals in all competitions so far, and was close to nabbing one in the Bernabeu as he flicked an effort onto Raphael Varane and into the back of the net.

The England international is set for a return to Mauricio Pochettino’s side against Los Blancos after missing the defeat at Manchester United through injury, and will come up against the current Ballon d’Or and FIFA Best holder Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite being full of praise for the Portuguese, Vertonghen insists he wouldn’t swap Kane for any other player.

“They are both unbelievable players,” Vertonghen told the Daily Mail.

“Ronaldo has his qualities and Harry has his. We have to show respect to Ronaldo for what he has won, his level and how he is still doing it.

“Harry is one of the best No 9s in Europe, maybe the best. He shows that every week. I wouldn't swap Harry for any player at the moment.”
