Nice midfielder Jean Seri has opened the door to a possible transfer to Arsenal, labelling the Gunners one of the “big European clubs” he would like to join.

Seri has consistently been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium throughout the summer though Arsenal have not made a formal move for the Ivory Coast international.

Barcelona appeared destined to sign the 26-year-old earlier this month but Seri has confirmed that that move has fallen apart.

However he is insistent that he wants to move on from the Ligue 1 side, who missed out on the Champions League group stages after a playoff defeat to Napoli, and join a top club.

Liverpool v Arsenal - Arsene Wenger press conference

Seri told Spanish publication El Mundo Deportivo: “I want to be optimistic and think that there are still options.

“Let the two clubs talk quietly again and come to an agreement. We are not talking about any club, where you are going to sign for money.

“I want to sign up big European clubs, such as Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool.

“For example, Roma, has made several offers. I have spoken many times with Monchi and this transfer has not occurred either because of economic reasons.”
