West Ham manager Slaven Bilic says it is ‘great’ to have striker Andy Carroll available once again but that keeping him fit is now the ‘million dollar' question.

The Hammers No.9, who played 82 minutes in their 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Monday night, has missed 114 games through injury since first moving to east London in 2012.

After seeing a successful return for the 28-year-old on Monday night, Bilic knows just how important he is for the team and how vital it is to keep him fit.

“He is a player that can lift the whole team, we have been saying that for two years now,” Bilic said.

“I have said is a hundred times, now 101, he is the player everyone knows, the crowd knows, the opponent knows, you cannot ignore.

“Whether you are playing with him or against him. You always know what he is going to give you and what are you going to get from him.

“It is great to have him back, now the question, the million dollar one, is how we are going to manage to keep him fit for the rest if the season and his career.”
