Kevin de Bruyne hopes Manchester City complete their "perfect" summer spending with the capture of Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez.

City have stepped up their long-standing interest in the forward ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline despite the Gunners maintaining all summer that a sale will not be sanctioned.

Reports claimed on Wednesday that Sanchez requested to leave the Chile national team camp in order to sort his future, which the ANFP president denied as "totally false."

De Bruyne is confident City will "try everything" to sign Sanchez and sympathises with the Arsenal man over the heightened and ongoing transfer speculation.

"He's a very good player," he told Sky Sports News. "If we can come to us it'll be a good addition. City's doing business perfectly this summer and if they want him they will try everything to get him."

He added: "In my transfer I was waiting a long time. Every training session in Germany was open, so every time the camera is on you.

"It's a bit annoying because I was pretty sure I was signing for City but I had to wait two or three weeks and every time you go home it's like 'what's happening?' They say 'oh you can go.' Then say no you're staying. It can be very annoying."
