Sadio Mane has been ruled out for six weeks as Liverpool are dealt another injury blow.

The midfielder damaged his hamstring on international duty, coming off in the 89th minute as Senegal won 2-0 over cape Verde in World Cup qualification.

Mane will now miss matches against Premier League title rivals Manchester United and Tottenham and West Ham. The visit of Chelsea on November 25 is also under threat.

The 25-year-old will also miss the Champions League double-header against Maribor and likely sit out the crunch trip to Sevilla on November 21.

Mane has already sat out three games this season due to a red card against Manchester City, only returning to league action for the 1-1 draw at Newcastle before the international break.

The winger has three goals in five league games this term and was on Monday included on the 30-man Ballon d'Or shortlist along with Liverpool team-mate Philippe Coutinho.
