Arsenal's humiliating 4-0 Premier League defeat to Liverpool was almost too much for Thierry Henry to take at Anfield.

Arsene Wenger's Gunners were emphatically crushed during Sunday's clash between the potential title rivals, with Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge putting the north London club to the sword.

Arsenal's defence and midfield was often nowhere to be seen as Jurgen Klopp's hosts ran riot, with only their profligacy and some smart saves from Petr Cech keeping the scoreline down.

The Gunners have now lost two of their opening three games of the 2017-18 season, and Henry - in attendance at Anfield for Sky Sports - admits that he almost left the stadium due to the effect the match was having on him.

"It was unwatchable, at one point I wanted to leave," he said.

"I didn't watch the game anymore, it was too much to take."

Henry won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups at Arsenal, becoming the club's all-time top goalscorer in the process.

But the Gunners icon admitted that Wenger's current side is so far removed from the likes of the 'Invincibles' side that he played in, that fans are struggling to see the positives.

"I don’t relate to the team and I don’t think a lot of the fans do," he added. "That is a problem."
