Mauricio Pochettino has dampened speculation that Danny Rose's absence from Tottenham's 2018 calendar has anything to do with the defender's future.

Rose has repeatedly been linked with a move away from Tottenham in recent months despite being sidelined since January with a knee injury.

Last month the England international apologised following an explosive interview in which he claimed players are underpaid and demanded big-money signings “you don’t have to Google" - an outburst for which the club fined him two weeks' wages of £130,000.

Rose has drawn the interest of Chelsea and Manchester United with Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho both on the search for left-backs this summer, and speculation grew as the 27-year-old was not included as one of the players in the club's official 2018 calendar.

However, Pochettino told reporters: "He came to see me and said 'Gaffer, why aren't I on the calendar?' I said you were in Central Park. It's not a big issue."

Rose is back in training with the first team alongside Erik Lamela as Spurs look to have the duo back in time for the north London derby on November 18.
