West Ham came from 2-0 down at half-time to win 3-2 at Wembley in the EFL Cup on Tuesday and face Palace this weekend in a crunch game for both clubs.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is still battling to keep his job while Palace are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and are desperate for a victory.

Hodgson said: "I am sure that will give them an extra boost of confidence before they come to play us on Saturday.

"All we can do is prepare our game and prepare our team.

"Whether the team we are playing is in great form, not in great form, full of confidence, lacking confidence, it makes no difference. We have got to do what we have got to do.

"But I am pretty sure, after that performance, Slaven and his team will be feeling good about themselves and will be coming here to win the game.

"Tottenham had control in the first half of the game but certainly in the second half West Ham were a transformed team and played exceptionally well.

"Their second-half performance merited that they won the game."
