Ryan Mason believes Tottenham will win the Premier League title this season if they can sort out their form at Wembley.

Spurs lost their opening home match of the season 2-1 to London rivals Chelsea before securing a 1-1 draw with Burnley the following week.

Another draw at their temporary ground then followed - a goalless result in the league against Swansea in mid-September - although the north Londoners did beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the Champions League and Barnsley 1-0 in the Carabao Cup at Wembley.

The club's next Premier League home game comes on Saturday 14 October when Mauricio Pochettino's men host Bournemouth.

And Mason thinks his former side will be the team to triumph in the league come May if Tottenham can start winning games at home - starting with the Cherries after the international break.

Speaking on Sky Sports' The Debate, Mason said of the Premier League title race: "Vincent Kompany is a massive one for them [current league leaders Manchester City].

"If they can get him back (fit) and playing 25 games until the end of the season then I think they’ll be up there but I still think (Manchester) United - and I believe Tottenham (can) as well.

"I look at their teams, I look at their squads... I think if Tottenham can sort their home form out then I think they’ll win it.

"But [Jose] Mourinho has done it before hasn’t he? And if you look at Mourinho and United now and you do look at them and this think ‘this is a United team’."
