In a weekend which saw both Manchester United and Manchester City further stamp their goal-scoring ability onto the Premier League title race, their star strikers surged to the front of the Golden Boot race.

While the likes of Harry Kane - who has won the last two Premier League Golden Boots, Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette all failed to find the back of the net, Sergio Aguero bagged the sixth Premier League hat-trick of his career at Watford while Romelu Lukaku scored against his former club Everton to add to his fine start to the season.

Kane, who hit the bar in Tottenham’s 0-0 draw against Swansea at Wembley, has just two goals to his name so far this term, as he kept up his unwanted record of being unable to score a Premier League goal in August.

Not one striker from the capital makes the top four in the Golden Boot standings, with Aguero and Lukaku leading the way with five each, while Jamie Vardy and Gabriel Jesus are tied third on four goals a piece.
