Tottenham have completed the signing of Juan Foyth from Estudiantes.

The defender becomes the club's third summer signing, of which all three have arrived over the previous two weeks, after putting pen to paper on a five-year deal.

Mauricio Pochettino has been pursuing the Argentine's signature all summer and a deal appeared to be dead heading into August with Paris Saint-Germain keen before the move was resurrected in the last few weeks.

A short statement from the club read: "The 19-year-old defender has signed a contract with the Club until 2022.

"Having established himself in Estudiantes’ first team, Juan has represented Argentina at Under-20 level 12 times and was a key member of their 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup and 2017 Under-20 South American Championship squads."

Foyth is Tottenham's second defensive addition this summer, with right-back Serge Aurier from PSG expected to follow shortly.

There is space in the first-team squad following Kevin Wimmer's £18million sale to Stoke City and Cameron Carter-Vickers' loan to Sheffield United. Aurier will fill the void left by Kyle Walker's departure to Manchester City.
