Everton manager Ronald Koeman has hailed Tottenham as one of the strongest sides in the Premier League and an example for his side to follow.
The former Southampton manager, who welcomes Mauricio Pochettino - his predecessor on the south coast – and his Spurs side to Goodison Park this weekend, says that despite a poor start to the season, there is plenty the Toffees can learn from them.
"In my opinion they are one of the strongest teams in the Premier League," he said.
"Maybe they haven't had the start they expected (four points from three matches) but they are a really strong side and I like how they play football.
"It is an example of how we need to make the next step as Everton.
"What they did is hard work, the development of young players and a really good manager.
"On one side we have made steps but on the other side still not. We need time if you bring in so many young and new players in."
It’s not the first time that Koeman, who forked out over £100m to add to his squad this summer, has praised Pochettino’s work in north London, claiming towards the end of last season that the Argentine had made them stronger than rivals Arsenal.
