Victor Moses says the new deal Chelsea handed him this year has strengthened his desire to stay at the club and win more trophies.

The 26-year-old spent three successive seasons out on loan before the arrival of Antonio Conte in 2016 saw him given the chance to impress in the first team.

And impress Moses did, with the Nigerian successfully nailing down the right wing-back role and helping Chelsea storm to the Premier League title with a record-breaking 30 victories last term.

Chelsea rewarded Moses for his consistent performances and hard work with a new deal in March, which will tie him down to the club for a further two years until 2021.

And the wing-back has admitted the contract demonstrated the faith Chelsea have in his abilities and motivated him to help the Blues secure more silverware in the coming years.

"It [the contract] gave me even more of a boost to go out there and enjoy my football," Moses told Goal.

"The new deal gave me a lot more confidence to say this is where I belong, this is where I want to play, this is where I want to help my team and to win trophies.

"Chelsea is one of the biggest football clubs in the world. I am happy here and enjoying it. I have always believed in myself. As a footballer it is essential to have that belief.

"I had been on loan three times. I always said to myself that I wanted to break into this team, to do the best I can for this football club.

"The right manager came in and recognised how hard I had worked. It isn’t just myself. Andreas Christensen has worked hard for himself and the manager has seen that as well.

"As a footballer, if you work hard, then everything else falls into place."
