Watford will not welcome any approach from Everton or Leicester for their manager Marco Silva.

Both clubs have included Silva on their shortlist of possible candidates to become their new head coach having fired Ronald Koeman and Craig Shakespeare respectively.

Silva, who signed a two-year contract when he arrived at Vicarage Road in the summer, has impressed since taking over.

The Portuguese has led Watford to sixth place in the table after nine games and the team’s stylish play has won many admirers.

Watford almost followed up their win over Arsenal earlier this month with a victory at champions Chelsea on Saturday, but missed key chances and lost 4-2.

Silva had already earned a lot of praise for the job he did at Hull last term, where he nearly kept them up after being given the post in January.

However, Watford are confident that the former Sporting Lisbon coach will remain at the club and that he will not be distracted by speculation.

At the moment, both Everton and Leicester have caretaker managers in David Unsworth and Michael Appleton. Burnley coach Sean Dyche is believed to be Everton’s first choice, while Ryan Giggs has expressed interest in either role.
