Slaven Bilic says his West Ham players are ready to make it up to fans after a desperate last showing at London Stadium.

Having seemingly turned a corner in terms of their form, hosting Brighton at home on a Friday night seemed like a routine win for the Hammers, even Bilic admitted as much at the time.

However, having lost 3-0 to the Seagulls, Bilic’s side were left with all to do in their two following away games.

The EFL Cup win over Spurs lifted spirits momentarily before they came crashing back down after the Wilfried Zaha’s late goal at Selhurst Park robbed the Hammers of two precious points in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

Bilic, though, insists that despite the disappointment from last weekend, his squad are fit and ready to take on Liverpool.

"It was a very bad game [against Brighton]," Bilic admitted.

"After that game we were talking about two games against Spurs and against Palace that from - let’s say if you were in Austrailia and get a paper saying ‘okay they beat Spurs away and they drew at Palace away’ okay, you know, but the way that game against Palace finished, it hurt us.

“But, you see the guys in training - I spoke to a lot of them - we are ready, we are fit, we want to make it up and we want to have a game and try to beat Liverpool.”

While those that trained may be fit and ready, Bilic is facing a defensive headache with Jose Fonte, James Collins and Sam Byram all injured while Pablo Zabaleta is suspended after picking up a fifth yellow card of the season in south London.
