Ex-Manchester United starlet Ravel Morrison trains with Birmingham with view to permanent deal this summer
Harry Redknapp has offered the Lazio flop another lifeline after working together at QPR
FORMER Manchester United wonderkid Ravel Morrison has been handed a career lifeline with Birmingham City.
Blues boss Harry Redknapp has invited the midfielder for a one-month trial with a view to a permanent deal.
The 24-year-old joined up with the rest of the squad on Monday for the first day of pre-season ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Morrison signed for Lazio in 2015 but his spell in Italy has been nothing short of a disaster and he spent the second half of last season at Queens Park Rangers.
Football's badboy still has a contract with Lazio until 2019 but has been told he is free to train with another club as he looks to re-ignite his career yet again.
And Redknapp has taken a gamble on the talent after describing him as a player with 'all the ability in the world' on talkSPORT but admitted it was his last chance.
Speaking to Birmingham's official website after the move, he said: "Ravel's come in and he's going to be training with us for a few days so we can have a look at him.
"That's it really."

Morrison's career has nosedived since Sir Alex Ferguson described him as one of the best youngsters Manchester United has ever signed.
He made a permanent move to West Ham but ended up being shipped on loan to three different clubs before signing for Lazio.
But now he will look to get back on track having reunited with Redknapp from their time together at QPR.
Birmingham have already signed keeper David Stockdale and Marc Roberts this summer.
