But Opsina - who has been used in cup competitions - insists he has no intention of leaving in search of first-team football.

He said: "I have a contract here, I'm happy and I'm going to fight to the end, I want to continue and win a job.

"That's what I'm working for, I've been working for three years and now I'm waiting for the opportunity."

Ospina, 28, split duties with Cech in pre-season and started in the 5-2 rout of Benfica.

Arsenal's first competitive game will be the Community Shield clash against Chelsea on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger is still busy working on his squad after signing Sead Kolasinac and shelling out a club-record fee for Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman is adamant contract rebels Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will not be leaving as they enter the final year of their deals.

But the Gunners boss is still keen to add options in midfield, with Monaco starlet Thomas Lemar a top target.
