Tottenham ‘agree deal’ to make first summer signing in £35m Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez
Spurs have reportedly beaten European giants Barcelona and Chelsea to the signature of the 21-year-old.
TOTTENHAM are closing in on their first summer signing in Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez, according to reports.
SunSport exclusively revealed how Spurs were targeting the talented 21-year-old following the departure of Kyle Walker.
And it appears the deal is on the verge of completion after Mauricio Pochettino's side agreed a fee that could rise to £35million.
Reports across Europe suggest Spurs have already agreed personal terms with the centre-back just days after left-back Danny Rose remarkably criticised the club's transfer team.
Spurs are the only side in the top flight that haven't strengthened their squad this summer as their title rivals continue to splash the cash.
But the wait for their first signing looks almost over on the eve of Tottenham's first league match of the season at Newcastle.
Sanchez can play at right back or in the centre of defence and is widely regarded as one of the top young defensive talents in the world.
He had been attracting interest from top clubs across Europe including Chelsea and Barcelona.
