It is believed he will join from Austria Vienna on a four-year deal.

Kayode took to Instagram to confirm his move by saying: “Am blessed…its time to kick some Ass and play good football…Thanks to the real LK8 fans and family…We love you all”

It is unknown whether he will ever force his way into Pep Guardiola's first team but will have the chance to impress with parent club Girona.

He will become the fifth City player to join the Spanish side this summer after Douglas Luiz, Pablo Maffeo, Aleix Garcia and Marlos Moreno all signed loan deals.

Kayode had been linked with a move to Newcastle but Rafa Benitez has turned his attentions to Stoke striker Joselu.

He has three caps for Nigeria under his name after making his debut in March.

Guardiola hinted that there will be no new transfers to improve his first-team this summer.

The Spaniard has spent around £218million on his squad and the manager was quick to wax lyricals over his side following the 2-0 win over Brighton.

He said: "If you want to play in a certain way, the way I like, with players on the ball then you need talent.

“Our midfield positions are ‘pwhoar!’ Really good.

“We have Fernandinho, Ilkay Gundogan is coming back, with Kevin De Bruyne, with David Silva, with Raheem Sterling, who can play in that position.

“All of them are going to play. Last season I rotated the team a lot and I will do that again."
