He is expected to be confirmed as big-spending Toffees chief Ronald Koeman's latest capture following a medical on Wednesday.

And Swans boss Paul Clement wants to replace the Iceland playmaker, who was involved in 22 Premier League goals last season, with the capture of Manchester City striker Bony.

The Ivory Coast hitman quit the Liberty Stadium in a £28million deal back in January 2015 after scoring 25 goals in 54 Prem appearances for Swansea.

But City misfit Bony has struggled at the Etihad, netting just six goals in 36 league games - and the 28-year-old even spent an unsuccessful loan spell at Stoke last term.

Should Bony, on a £130,000-a-week salary at City, agree personal terms, he will bolster Swansea's striking options.

We will compete alongside Fernando Llorente and on-loan Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham for a starting spot.

With money to burn, the Swans are also keen to further reinforce their squad by sealing a deal for West Brom midfielder Nacer Chadli.

Swansea also enquired about ex-midfielder Joe Allen but Stoke do not want to sell the Wales ace, who still has three years left on his contract.
