Liverpool transfer news: Juventus have not ended interest in Emre Can and will try to sign Reds’ midfielder for FREE next summer
The German international has 12-months left on his current Reds' contract
JUVENTUS have ended their summer pursuit of Liverpool ace Emre Can - but will attempt to prise the German away from Anfield for FREE next summer.
The Italian champions have instead decided to sign Blaise Matuidi from Paris Saint-Germain for £18 million this summer.
The Reds' have shown a reluctance to sell their midfielder, despite the fact that he only has a year left on current contract.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that Juve will wait until January to make another move for Can.
At that point, Massimiliano Allegri's side will be allowed to negotiate a pre-contract with the 23-year-old without the Merseyside club's permission.
Boss Jurgen Klopp insists Can wants to stay at Anfield but admits he is frustrated with how talks have progressed.
Speaking to the Echo on Monday, Klopp admitted the situation was ‘not cool’.
He said: “So far there is no signing and that is the situation.
