The former Reds defender and brother Gary Neville turn to Twitter to irritate rival fans after United's triumphant 4-0 victory over Swansea City

PHIL NEVILLE irritates Chelsea fans on social media by thanking them for selling Nemanja Matic to United this summer.

The Serbian midfielder was an unsung hero for Chelsea last term, but he appears to have hit the ground running at Old Trafford.

The former Manchester United and Everton defender is usually amidst some sort of controversy on social media.

The Serbian international joined United earlier this summer in a £40m three-year deal.

This tweet from Neville added fuel to the fire for Chelsea, who were no doubt still bitter about Matic's claim that Manchester United are the biggest club he has ever played for.

Matic kicked off his campaign in style, playing a very influential role during United's 4-0 win over the Hammers on the opening day of the season.

He oozed confidence on the field today and held possession well, much to the appreciation of Neville.

Gary Neville was quick to follow up his brother's tweet with another boastful online post.

The Serbian midfielder tallied a total of 154 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit before completing his move to United.

Following his debut for United, the 29-year-old has drawn a wide attention from a number of plaudits - Phil Neville being the most recent.

Matic provides an anchor within the Reds midfield, which relieves Paul Pogba of his defensive duties and allows him to apply himself further up the field.
