Arsenal transfer news: Kieran Gibbs closing in on £7m West Brom switch after talks with Watford collapse
WEST BROM are closing in on Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs in a £7million deal.
The England international looked set for Watford but talks collapsed with club and player failing to agree on personal terms.
And Baggies boss Tony Pulis wasted no time in taking advantage by agreeing a deal with the Gunners.
The 27-year-old made the trip to the Midlands for his medical on Tuesday and will hope to complete the move before Thursday's 11pm deadline.
Gibbs currently pockets around £60,000-a-week at Arsenal and may need to take a pay cut.
The defender was told he is free to leave the Emirates this summer as Arsene Wenger plans to trim his squad.
He hasn't featured this season and with a World Cup next summer, it will be Gibbs' final chance to impress Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate.
Pulis had been in the market for a new left-back with midfielder Chris Brunt slotting in the makeshift role.

And he will join summer signings Jay Rodriguez, Oliver Burke, Ahmed Hegazi and Gareth Barry if he does sign on the dotted line.
But the West Brom boss is facing a losing battle in his bid to keep hold of Jonny Evans.
The Northern Ireland centre-back and club captain is wanted by both Man City and Arsenal this week.
Evans hasn't featured this season and has been the subject of a £23m bid from Pep Guardiola's side.
