Everton transfer news: Ronald Koeman to launch January bid for Celtic youngster Anthony Ralston
Teenage right-back was given the task of marking Neymar in the Champions League which ended in the Brazilian refusing to shake hands
EVERTON are weighing up a January bid for Celtic starlet Anthony Ralston.
The teenage right-back caught the eye with the way he faced up to £198 million man Neymar in the Champions League clash with PSG.
But it’s thought Toffees scouts have been trailing Ralston, 18, since his run in the Hoops first team at the end of last season.
They are thought to have monitored his performances as he helped Scotland Under-20s finish third in the summer’s Toulon Tournament.
And they have continued to keep tabs on him as boss Brendan Rodgers has handed him his chance this term.
Scouts from the Goodison side are understood to have been in Paisley as he impressed in the Scotland’s Under-21s’ 2-0 win over Holland last week.
Ralston had also been asked to train with the Scotland senior team in the days before that victory against the Dutch.
He was handed just his fifth start for the Hoops on Tuesday and put in a gutsy display despite the 5-0 scoreline.

Brazilian superstar Neymar refused to shake Ralston’s hand at full-time after words were exchanged earlier in the match.
SunSport has already revealed how Ralston is on West Ham’s radar, with Spurs also thought to be aware of a player who has come through the Hoops’ system.
Celtic have Ralston tied down on a deal until 2019 but could face a battle to keep him if the Premier League big spenders come calling.
