One Arsenal fan said how he believed there were 'up to 10,000' Cologne supporters creating an atmosphere in the wrong section of the stadium.

Cologne were handed a 2,900 ticket allocation for the match but around 20,000 descended into London on Thursday afternoon causing chaos on Oxford Street.

Ticketless supporters were thought to have paid Arsenal fans 'up to £1000' for their home tickets outside the ground.

They then bought Arsenal jerseys to ensure they could get into stadium before congregating together.

The rowdy Cologne fans then took off their home strips to reveal their side's colours before singing and chanting underneath the famous clock.

It was complete chaos outside the Emirates before kick-off as supporters from the away side attempted to storm turnstiles.

Uefa delayed kick-off by an hour for safety reasons with thousands made to wait outside the stadium until police had the situation under control.

A number of fights broke out and police were forced to use batons with one Cologne supporter bleeding from his head.

The swarm of away fans didn't have to wait long until they were given something to cheer.

With nine minutes on the clock Jhon Cordoba lashed home a stunning strike from distance following David Ospina's poor kick.
