Everton reveal Angry Birds as first ever sleeve sponsor ahead of Manchester United fixture
EVERTON will debut the Angry Birds logo on the left sleeve of the jersey against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Toffees have recently signed a multi-year deal Rovio Entertainment - the company behind the app which tallied over 450million downloads last year.
Angry Birds has now become the club's first ever shirt sleeve sponsor following changes to regulations in the Premier League.
Team's can now also sport a brand on the arm of the jersey, as well on the front.
Everton’s Chief Executive Robert Elstone said: “We’re delighted that Rovio Entertainment has become Everton’s first shirt sleeve partner.
"Angry Birds is one of the best-selling game apps of all time and is also a remarkable success story in terms of the way in which the brand has crossed over from gaming to become part of popular culture.
"Everyone here is excited about being able to work with such a creative, dynamic and ambitious brand.”
The partnership is expected to open Everton up to 80 million monthly users of the Angry Birds app - which launched in December 2009.
Ville Heijari, CMO of games at Rovio Entertainment added: “We are excited to bring Angry Birds into the top flight of English football in partnership with Everton.
"In Everton, we have found a partner who shares our values of putting the fans first, and creating a long-lasting legacy for our community of players.
"This is Rovio's first partnership in the most watched sports league in the world, and a logical continuation of our global Angry Birds brand partnerships.”
Everton's badge, players and stadium will now be used within the app - which boasts 25million followers on Facebook.
Users of the game will now also be in with the chance to win exclusive co-branded merchandise and prizes.
