Bundesliga star gave his side the lead in the World Cup qualifier against Tunisia with a close range strike

In the dying stages of the fixture, Keita appeared to slap Tunisian defender Ben Amor in the face before passing the ball to a team-mate.

The defender dropped to the ground clutching his face and referee Janny Sikazwe produced a straight red card in the 94th minute.

This is the 22-year-old's second dismissal in four matches for both club and country.

Qualification for Kanfory Lappe Bangoura's side was already impossible, but they looked likely to secure a shock victory after Keita's opener.

Keita, the international captain, gave Guinea a first-half lead after slotting home a strike from inside of the area.

Youssef Msakni then bagged a brace, before Ben Amor found the third in the 75th minute.

Following Keita's dismissal, Msakni bagged his hat-trick during stoppage time.

Tunisia remain at the top of the group with 13 points and now only need a draw in their final game to book their spot in next summer's competition.

Keita is expected to join Liverpool at the end of the season after the the Premier League club met RB Leipzig's £48m demand.

Jurgen Klopp wanted the 22-year-old to join in January, but the German club are expected to reject this offer.

However, if Liverpool returned with a bigger fee then the two clubs would negotiate.
