Jurgen Klopp's side were held to a 0-0 stalemate by Premier League rivals Manchester United on Saturday, despite dominating for the majority.

Can shone throughout the fixture at Anfield and the 23-year-old came close to breaking the deadlock for the home side.

He picked up a through ball in United's area, but was unable to hit the target with a powerful volley.

In the wake of the United draw, Can told SFR Sport: "We have to win that game because we dominated for 90 minutes.

"I think we had good chances and United had one shot on target with [Romelu] Lukaku.

"It's the same story like before the international break but we have to go again on Tuesday because I think it's just a small, small step and then we will come in the right direction again.

"It's too early [to make judgements], nothing is over yet and we have to believe in ourselves. We have to win the next game."

Merseyside team-mate Dejan Lovren has also stated that Liverpool dominated and were unlucky to not take three points away from the fixture.
