Wayne Rooney arrives at the Lowry Hotel 30 minutes before his former Manchester United team-mates ahead of their clash with Huddersfield
The Red Devils are relaxing at the five-star hotel before travelling to Huddersfield tomorrow and may have got the chance to catch up with their former team-mate as well
WAYNE ROONEY was snapped climbing the steps of the swanky Lowry Hotel on Friday afternoon less than an hour before his former Manchester United team-mates arrived.
The United legend was thought to be signing shirts for charity in one of the five-star hotel's rooms but his business trip may have turned to into a catch up with some old friends.
Half an hour after Rooney the United players started rolling in to put together their usual preparations and relax before their Premier League clash against Huddersfield.
Romelu Lukaku, David de Gea, Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera were spotted making their way in to the hotel fresh off their 1-0 win over Benifica on Wednesday night.
Last to arrive was Jose Mourinho who looked strictly business as he climbed up the steps... holding two mobile phones.
The Red Devils boss is understood to have called one of Lowry Hotel's six luxury Riverside Suites - which cost guests an average of £816 a night - his home since his appointment as manager in 2016.
His players also regularly stay there the night before matches with the tens of double rooms block booked throughout the season.
A tradition dating back to when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge, a mutually benificial partnership between the club and prestigious hotel has been ongoing for around a decade and its worth extends into the millions.
United have had a strong start to the season with six wins in eight league games.
But Mourinho's men will look to bounce back from a draw against Liverpool to keep up the pace with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League when they travel to the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.
