Manchester United given huge boost as Eric Bailly returns to training ahead of Tottenham clash

MANCHESTER UNITED will be looking to put last weekend's defeat behind them when they face Tottenham on Saturday.

Eric Bailly returned to training with Jose Mourinho's squad on Thursday after enduring three weeks on the sidelines.

The United squad looked in high spirits at the Carrington training ground, despite dropping points to Huddersfield last weekend.

Bailly had missed four games for the Reds, but he appears to have fully recovered from the groin injury that he picked up while on international duty.

And his defensive partner Phil Jones is also expected to return after limping off during last Saturday's match.

Following the 2-0 victory against Swansea in the Carabao Cup, Mourinho said: "I think Jones will be back.

"He said he was on the bench and he told me he will be ready in case I need him.

"So I believe he'll be even better for Saturday.

"Apart from that, I have no news and hopes [for the other players]."

The Manchester United chief watched his side carefully from the sidelines at the training centre after loosing his temper with the squad last Saturday.

The Reds are now five points Pep Guardiola's high-flying Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Spurs could enter the clash without talisman Harry Kane after the striker picked up a hamstring injury against West Ham on Wednesday.
