According to the Mirror, Giuseppe Liberato suffered a bruise rib during the altercation and will be unable to work for a month while he recovers.
Police are now investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made.
Since the incident involving fans came to light, UEFA have issued a ban on anyone attending the Champions League fixture from wearing a belt.
This ban follows the trouble last night as well as from the two team's first meeting, where a Napoli fan was jailed for using his belt as a weapon in an attack in a pub near the Ethiad stadium.
