'IS THAT A PAGER?'

Sergio Aguero carries mysterious black box on the pitch against Arsenal… but what is it?

The 29-year-old scored Manchester City's second of the afternoon before being replaced by Gabriel Jesus at the Etihad

ALL eyes were on Sergio Aguero as Manchester City breezed past Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the 29-year-old was carrying a strange black box as he left the field.

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for the Citizens after 20 minutes, before Aguero doubled the tally after the break.

The Argentine scored from the penalty spot, before being replaced by Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus.

As he applauded the fans and waved his arm in the air, he was spotted carrying a small black object in his right hand.

Fans were sent into frenzy trying to work out what he was holding - with one fan even suggesting it was the device that you hold in a restaurant when you're waiting for a table.

It was later revealed that it was in fact a battery pack for the referee's microphone - but why Aguero was carrying it remains a mystery.

Following Aguero's departure, substitute Alexandre Lacazette snatched one back for the visitors with a sublime effort that flew through the legs of Ederson.

Aguero scored his 178th City goal in the 4-2 win over Napoli last week to break Eric Brook's 78-year record.

After drawing a blank in the first half, the 29-year-old switched back to his old boots before firing home second strike of the fixture.
