Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son breaks Park Ji-Sung’s record as highest scoring Asian in Prem
South Korean international's strike against Crystal Palace makes him the Premier League's top scoring Asian player
HEUNG-MIN SON'S left-footed strike plants him into the history books, as his total of 20 Premier League goals is a new record.
The previous top Asian scorer in the Prem was Manchester United's Park Ji-Sung, who hit 19 top-flight goals during his time in England.
The goal came from a poor clearance from Palace's Yohan Cabaye, Son controlled the ball and curled it into the top corner.
"I'm very happy to break the record. My family were here and it's a special day for me," Son told the club's website.
Other familiar names on the Asian top scorer list are Swansea's Ki Sung-yeung, who sits in third place with 13 goals in 145 games.
Japanese international Shinji Okazaki is in fourth with 12 goals for his club Leicester.

Further down the list is Borussia Dortmund's Shinji Kagawa, also formerly of Manchester United, who bagged six goals for the Red Devils.
Of the top 10, only half of them still ply their trade in the Premier League.
Son has the best goals to game record, scoring 20 in just 72 appearances, most of those coming off of the bench.
His team needed him, as Tottenham edged past a dangerous Crystal Palace side who had their fair share of chances.

Spurs sit in third place in the table, eight points behind leaders Manchester City, who beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad.
That's four wins in five for the North London side, who face bitter rivals Arsenal after the international break.
