Gareth Southgate leaves Jack Wilshere sweating over possible England recall
The Arsenal ace is waiting to find out whether he has made the Three Lions squad for the 2018 World Cup
JACK WILSHERE has again been left sweating over his England comeback.
The Arsenal midfielder last week said he was waiting to discuss his international future with boss Gareth Southgate.
Wilshere, 25, claimed his phone was “always on” as he awaits news over a place in next summer’s World Cup squad.
But Southgate said: “My phone isn’t always on — I’ve had a chaotic couple of weeks.
“Jack seems to be getting closer to the team with Arsenal.
"He has been on the bench for the last couple of matches.
“He has not started yet but there are lots of conversations with lots of different players to be had over the next couple of months.”
Earlier this month the England boss claimed that the playmaker cannot play for England 'without getting in the Arsenal team'.

But this has not happened for Wilshere, who has only been introduced as a substitute this season for the Gunners.
His contract, along with a handful of Arsenals biggest stars, is due to expire at the end of the season.
A January transfer could provide the 25-year-old with the platform he needs to impress the Three Lions boss.
Swansea, West Ham and Crystal Palace are among the clubs that have been monitoring Wilshere's progress.
Arsenal chief Arsene Wenger claimed that he should focus about being fit, rather than stressing about his future.
