Manchester United legend Gary Neville blasts post-Fergie recruitment before West Brom clash
Seven out of Jose Mourinho's starting squad on Sunday were at Old Trafford when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge
MANCHESTER UNITED have forked out around £660million since Sir Alex Ferguson resigned as a club legend in 2013.
And eagle-eyed Gary Neville pointed out a 'scary' statistic when Jose Mourinho released his starting XI before the West Brom clash.
Seven out of Manchester United's starting eleven were at the club when Fergie was in charge five years ago.
Following his retirement, David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have all held the reigns at Old Trafford.
And despite splashing the cash, the United squad remains scarily similar.
After highlighting the statistic before the Baggies clash, pundit Gary Neville was bombarded with tweets.
After receiving a tweet from a shocked fan, Neville replied: "Scary and sobering point to have to make considering 660m has been spent since he left !"
The former United defender replied to this same message three times in a deliberate attempt to make himself heard.

Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku and Ander Herrera are the four starting players that have been signed since Fergie stepped down.
But United are without a handful of their key players for their trip to the Hawthorns, which could ease the pain for United fans.
Manchester United latest news
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still recovering from his operation, Paul Pogba is serving a suspension and Eric Baily has been ruled out for three months with an injury.
Shortly after Fergie stepped down, David Gill was replaced as United's chief executive by Ed Woodward - which could partly explain United's transfer turmoil.
