Michel Vorm becomes the latest Tottenham player to sign new contract keeping him at club until 2018

MICHEL VORM has become the latest player to commit his future to Tottenham.

The goalkeeper penned a new deal to extend his contract at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2018 on Friday.

Speaking to Tottenham's official site, Vorm said: "That I can extend my contract here is very positive. I'm very happy here.

"I've got a lot of respect for the staff and players and I think we've shown already that we can compete for the best.

"We have to take more steps ahead, we've got the new stadium coming up, this year we played Champions League football for the first time with this group so these kind of things are very positive.

"I think to be a part of that is very special."

The Dutch keeper moved to White Hart Lane in 2014 and has impressed in the opportunities handed to the 33-year-old in Hugo Lloris' absence.

And he has become the 15th Spurs player to sign a new deal in 2016 under Mauricio Pochettino.

On Thursday Spurs confirmed that Lloris had signed a new contract until 2022 as Pochettino posed for his classic picture again.

The 29-year-old signed for Spurs from Lyon in 2012 and his current deal ties him to the club until he is 35.
