Hatem Ben Arfa told to find new club by PSG after he complains about a lack of first-team football
Former Newcastle star made just five starts in Ligue 1 and has year remaining on contract
HATEM BEN ARFA has been told by Paris Saint-Germain he can leave the club - after complaining about a lack of first-team football.
The former Newcastle star made just five starts in Ligue 1 last season.
His last competitive appearance came all the way back in the Coupe de France quarter-final in April.
Ben Arfa, 30, joined the French giants last summer after a standout season at Nice.
The capital club are his boyhood side but Ben Arfa never kicked on and has now been told he can play elsewhere - with Roma and AC Milan interested.
Antero Henrique, sporting director at PSG, and Ben Arfa's representatives sat down for crunch talks over his future yesterday.
And it was then they were told the ex-Marseille and Hull winger should move on.
The player's lawyer, Jean-Jacques Bertrand, told L'Equipe: "PSG made us understand that Hatem is free to leave, but we made them understand he won't leave just like that."
The Frenchman still has a year remaining on his contract and could still be called upon for the side's pre-season tour of America later this month.
He angered bosses by posting a Facebook video in March slamming a dearth of chances - and had a row with the assistant caught on camera.

Ben Arfa said at the time: "I am not asking for much, not game time or a specific role, I just want to be given my chance.
"I am unable to accept my situation. It would be crazy to accept it. I will not give up. Until the end of the season, I will try to force my destiny."
