Gibbs - a ten-cap international - only featured in 11 of Arsenal's Premier League games last season as he fell behind Nacho Monreal in Wenger's plans.

The Gunners youth product has been chased by a host of clubs, with West Brom also launching a £10million bid for the left-back.

In all, Gibbs has spent ten seasons in the first-team squad, making his debut in 2007-08 in the League Cup.

He went on to make 230 appearances in all competitions, scoring six times - with 137 Premier League outings.

Meanwhile, there is room in the squad for Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Calum Chambers - who have failed to feature in pre-season.

The trio all took part in the European Under-21 Championship in Poland and were granted additional leave.
