Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho put on alert with Barcelona ‘willing to sell Andre Gomes after just one season’
Reports in Spain claim Ernesto Valverde will allow Portuguese star to leave.. sparking the Red Devils' interest
BARCELONA are reportedly considering selling Andre Gomes, sparking Manchester United’s interest.
The Catalans were willing to allow teammate Arda Turan to leave this summer.
But with no bids forthcoming, Marca are claiming that they could opt to offload Portuguese star Gomes instead.
New boss Ernesto Valverde is said to feel that the La Liga giants have too many midfielders in their squad.
And therefore he was willing to sell one in order to raise some extra transfer funds to strengthen elsewhere.
But the lack of interest in the 30-year-old Turkish international could now see them accept an offer for his Barca colleague.
Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the 23-year-old Gomes, and he is believed to be monitoring the situation carefully.
United will finally tie-up a deal to bring Nemanja Matic to Old Trafford from Premier League rivals Chelsea this week.

The ex-Real Madrid chief allegedly saw a £31million approach knocked back last month.
Gomes only arrived at the Nou Camp a year ago from Valencia but has not reached the heights expected of him.
He was even jeered by his own supporters on occasions.
Gomes has not been with Valverde and squad during the club’s International Champions Cup tour of USA.
He was granted an extended break after his participation in the Confederations Cup, but he is due to return to training this week.
