Pep Guardiola decided not to take the winger to the US amid his refusal to sign a new contract and subsequent transfer speculation over a move away from the Etihad.

Now, he is allegedly being pursued by Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, who both rate the England U-17 international highly, according to the MEN.

Sancho watched on as his fellow young team-mates Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz impressed in pre-season.

Diaz scored against Real Madrid and Spurs, while Foden was described as a "gift" by Guardiola.

The youngster Sancho doesn't see a clear path to first-team football, so is prepared to ply his trade elsewhere.

Reports have linked him with a move abroad to Red Bull Leipzig, but the allure of a short trip across Manchester may be too great.

He netted seven goals for the Three Lions, picking up the best player award.

It's no wonder why Mourinho and Wenger are hot on his trail.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak spoke highly of the City trio, including Sancho, Foden and Diaz.

He said: "You look at Sancho, you look at Phil Foden, you look at Brahim Diaz, just to name a few. These are players that are extremely talented.

"If you ask Pep today he will tell you they can and will be first team players at Manchester City. There is a balance that you have to strike."
