Arsenal lose another coach to Wolfsburg as Jan van Loon follows Andries Jonker and Freddie Ljungberg to the German giants

ARSENAL have lost ANOTHER coach to Wolfsburg, as Jan van Loon has followed Andries Jonker and Freddie Ljungberg to the German giants.

The Gunners' former head of player development has left the Emirates academy set-up for the Bundesliga outfit this week.

Van Loon will now link up with Jonker, now in charge of Wolfsburg, and his No2 Ljungberg for the 2017-18 season.

The Dutch coach had worked closely with Arsenal's Under-15s squad and was seen a key cog in the Gunners' academy.

However, Van Loon has been tempted to the Bundesliga as he will now have the chance to work with the first-team.

Jonker left Arsenal in February, taking Ljungberg with him in a massive blow to Arsene Wenger.

Former Arsenal star Ljungberg played for the North London club between 1998 and 2007 before eventually returning to the Emirates to take on a coaching position.

Van Loon on the other hand joined the Arsenal ranks in 2014, joining from Holland's youth team set-up.

Prior to his time with the Netherlands, he worked for Dutch outfits Willem II and PSV Eindhoven.

Wolfsburg, so often battling for a European berth, struggled mightily last season as they finished 16th out of the 18 teams in the Bundesliga, narrowly avoiding relegation.

Eventually they finished a mere five points above the two-team drop zone and will be hoping their Arsenal recruits can lead them to a more comfortable season.
