Tottenham dealt blow with ex-Liverpool flop Suso set to sign new five-year deal at AC Milan
According to reports the Spaniard is keen to extend his stay in the Italian capital as Spurs continue search for new signings this summer
TOTTENHAM have been dealt a blow with AC Milan star Suso close to agreeing a new deal.
Tuttomercatoweb report the former Liverpool midfielder and his representatives are in talks with the Serie A giants to extend his stay in Italy.
Spurs have been trying to lure the Spaniard back to the Premier League as the player's stock has risen since his departure from Anfield in 2014.
The 23-year-old has become an important part of the Milan set up and boss Vincenzo Montella is desperate for Suso to commit his long-term future to the club.
Suso made 37 appearances for Milan last term and bagged seven goals.
He struggled to make an impact at Liverpool after joining the Anfield Academy as a teenager and moved to Almeria is Spain on loan before his switch to Italy.
The midfielder has another two years to run on his current contract and the Rossoneri have offered a new five-year deal and a hefty pay rise.
The Spanish star's decision to snub Spurs is another indication of a tough summer in the transfer market for the North London side with boss Mauricio Pochettino yet to add to his squad.
