Arsenal’s £35m move for Jean Michael Seri depends on Nice’s Champions League qualification as Monaco play hardball over Thomas Lemar

Arsene Wenger poised to make his third signing of the summer with Lemar seemingly staying put

ARSENAL'S £35million move for Jean Michael Seri could depend on Nice's Champions League qualification, according to reports.

Monaco continue to play hardball over Thomas Lemar and Arsene Wenger is struggling to offload a number of Gunners flops to free up funds.

Spurs are also targeting Ligue 1 midfielder Seri - but reports in France claim Arsenal are in pole position to land him.

Seri bagged seven goals and nine assists and has been likened to Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.

And now French newspaper L’Equipe say that Arsenal are lining up a £35m bid for the Ivorian.

However, EPSN claim Seri's move to Arsenal may depend on whether or not Nice make it into the Champions League.

The French side drew 1-1 with Ajax last week in their third qualifying round first leg thanks in part to a goal from Mario Balotelli.

They contest their second leg at the Amsterdam Arena tonight.

Nice finished third in the French top flight last season to qualify for Europe's top competition.

Seri has impressed at Nice since signing from Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira in 2015 and Arsenal scouted him regularly last season.
